Hip Hop Movie: 500 Years Later
Wednesday, November 18, 6 pm, UWM Union Ballroom
500 Years Later: a screening of the groundbreaking film by Molefi Asanti Jr. The event begins with the DJ skills of DJ Tyme, the dynamic lyrics of Shelly the Poet, and a Break Dancing demonstration. Movie to begin at approximately 7 pm. Discussion to follow.
Exploring Hip Hop
Thursday, November 19, 6 pm, UWM Union Ballroom
"It's Bigger Than Hip Hop: A Lecture" and book signing by author, filmmaker, and professor Molefi Asante Jr. The event begins with the DJ skills of DJ Tyme, the dynamic lyrics of one of Milwaukee's best emcee, and a Break Dancing demonstration. Lecture to begin at approximately 7 pm.
